Why Do People Break Up?
“Why do people break up?” is a question that can draw a lot of answers. Couples break up for various reasons, even if it means losing the one you love.
Some of the factors involved in answering the question “Why do people break up?” are money, jealousy, sex, alcohol, abuse, or infidelity. Some people say that if you really want to make your relationship last, you have to stop pushing too hard and stop trying to hold on too tight. A little freedom and space, coupled with love and affection, can go a long way in saving your relationship from falling apart. But, is this enough to strongly bind a couple?
If you find yourself on the verge of a “break up” situation, then it’s time for you to stop asking “Why do people break up?” Instead, look for ways to save your relationship if it’s still worth fighting for. But, if you know in your heart that it’s irreparable, don’t fall apart. It’s not because there are still a lot of guys and girls around the bend, but because you are deserving of someone who can give you the happiness you ought to have.
Fortunately, there are ways to alleviate your pain when you are in a break up situation. There are periods of lingering “what ifs” and “maybes” that often follow a break up. You question your decision, whether it was hastily made or would have an honest and open discussion cleared things up?
Each of us is different and we have different ways of coping with the break up of a relationship. Some people find it easier to distance themselves from everybody, while some find it comforting to be in the company of trusted friends. Some try to look for a new love interest at once.
Acceptance is a way of coping with the situation. Feelings of hurt must not be repressed. Cry, if you feel like crying. Confront the hurt openly and honestly and accept that the feeling is normal and expected, but do not forget to allow yourself to openly work through it. You must understand that contrary to everything that you may be feeling, it is not the end of the world. Try to overcome your pain by involving yourself in different activities. Always remember that nothing is permanent in this life and that the pain shall pass away.
Another interesting question is “why do people break up and then get back together? I guess the old adage “You’ll never know what you’ve got till it’s gone” never lost its essence. In reality, we most often take for granted the ones we love until they’re gone. Sometimes, couples just need to separate for a while in order to realize how important their partners are.
